The Ever-After (常世, Tokoyo) is an afterlife world. It appears in Suzume.

Overview

The Ever-After is a timeless realm of the dead. This is where the Worms come from. The Ever-After is connected to the human world through various doors in abandoned ruins across Japan. While it is visible from these doors, only one of them allows mortals to enter it. After the 2011 Great Earthquake, the Ever-After was covered in inferno, reflecting the devastated scenery of Japan by the disaster, until Suzume Iwato and Souta Munakata managed to seal the Worms using special keystones, bringing peace and closure back to the otherworldly realm.
