Miki Okudera (奥寺 ミキ, Okudera Miki) is a supporting character in Your Name. She is one of Taki Tachibana’s colleagues who work at the Italian restaurant "Giardino delle Parole".
Appearance[]
Okudera is a very fashionable and attractive young woman with wavy mid-length maroon hair which she wears in a ponytail with two strands framing her face and amber eyes.
Personality[]
Miki has a "girly" personality, wearing fashionable clothes and almost purposefully being attractive. When Mitsuha was in Taki's body Miki seemed to think that 'Taki' was cute, and went with him to try and find Mitsuha. She reluctantly enjoys smoking, citing that she is unable to stop.
In Your Name.[]
Miki Okudera was born on January 22, 1992 and is the head waitress of the Italian restaurant "Il Giardino delle Parole" where Taki works. When Mitsuha was in Taki's body, Miki expressed that she liked Taki's hidden "feminine" side and they developed a mutual crush which, after a date between Taki and Miki, faded but they have mantained a strong friendship. Miki accompanied Taki along with Tsukasa Fujii on a journey to find Mitsuha, reaching the destroyed Itomori.

Miki is voiced by Masami Nagasawa. In the English dub, she is voiced by Laura Post.
Director's interview[]
Miki five years later, in the ending of the film, is seen with a wedding ring and Makoto Shinkai confirmed in an interview that she got married to Tsukasa Fujii
Etymology[]
- The name Miki is written in katakana (ミキ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (美紀), it could possibly mean "beautiful" (美) (mi) and "chronicle" (紀) (ki).
- Miki's surname Okudera means "in the back, inner part, heart, interior" (奥) (oku) and "temple" (寺) (tera/dera).
- Her married name Fujii means "wisteria" (藤) (fuji) and "well, mine shaft, pit" (井) (i).
