"One More Time, One More Chance" is the tenth chapter of 5 Centimeters per Second manga.
Summary[]
After receiving a misdialed call, Takaki Tōno realizes that he has isolated himself for too long, so he decides to take a walk. At the train station where he first met Risa Mizuno, he sees her on the other side of the tracks, but they are unable to face each other as a train passes by. Takaki arrives at a convenience store and reads the news of Elish leaving the solar system.
Takaki reads a rejection letter from a job he had applied for. He receives a call from a friend asking for Kotani's new address, but he doesn't know it. In the spring, Takaki is seen working at a new office. He is invited by a co-worker for lunch, which he accepts. Meanwhile, Akari Shinohara has a phone call with her husband and promises that they will see cherry blossoms together the following week.
One day, as cherry blossom petals gently fall from the sky, Takaki decides to go for a walk. He passes by the groves he used to visit in his childhood and heads towards a train crossing. As Akari approaches from the other side, they seem to recognize each other, but when they turn around to check, two trains obstruct their view. After the trains pass, Takaki sees that Akari has disappeared, but he also realizes that she is now living a happy life. He smiles to himself and decides to move forward. As a symbol of his newfound relief, a young Akari appears behind Takaki on the other side of the tracks, waving farewell to her sweetheart as cherry petals continue to fall endlessly.
