Shinjuku Park Tower

Shinjuku Park Tower (新宿パークタワー, Shinjuku Pāku Tawā) the second-tallest building in Shinjuku, Tokyo. With a height of 235 m, it is adjacent to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. It appears in 5 Centimeters per Second, The Garden of Words and Your Name.

The building is owned and managed by Tokyo Gas Urban Development, a subsidiary of Tokyo Gas, and was constructed on the site of a decommissioned gas storage facility. It was designed by Kenzo Tange and completed in 1994.

As an iconic building of Tokyo, Shinjuku Park Tower appears at the start of the film, when Takaki Tōno reads Akari Shinohara's letter in 1994.

It appears briefly in some scenes.

Shinjuku Park Tower appears briefly in the Yumetōrō opening as the camera runs from Taki Tachibana's location through Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building to Mitsuha Miyamizu's house.

It can also be seen when Taki watches comet Tiamat on October 4, 2013.

In Weathering with you[]

The Shinjuku Park Tower can be briefly seen in a scene. It ends up partially submerged in the film following the Tokyo flood.
