Takashi Takai (高井高司, Takai Takashi) is a character in Weathering with You. He is a police officer in Tokyo.
In Weathering with You[]
Takai and Yasui chased after a pimp to ask about a young boy with a gun. The two detectives later had some noodles in a restaurant and discussed the case, with Yasui pointing out that they should look for clues on the internet. On August 21 2021, Takai and Sasaki came to Hina Amano's house to ask for information about the boy, but she turned them away.
On August 22, Takai and fellow police officers stormed the hotel room where Hodaka and Nagi Amano were staying, but they could not find Hina, so they took the boys into custody, with Nagi being sent to the Child Consultation Center. Meanwhile, Hodaka was transported to Ikebukuro Police Station for interrogation, but the boy managed to escape from the police custody. Takai chased after him, but lost his track after Natsumi Suga appeared and gave Hodaka a ride.
The police later arrived at Yoyogi Kaikan. When Takai was about to apprehend Hodaka, Keisuke Suga intervened and punched him in the face, letting Hodaka escape in the process. He later arrested and escorted all the people involved to police cars.
